Overview
Security Groups control user access to functionality within the Cantara Administration Console. Administrators manage Security Groups and assign permissions using Security Topics.
User authentication is managed separately. For details, see Account Management.
If SCIM provisioning is configured, Security Group membership is managed in the identity provider and synchronised into Cantara. Security Topics must still be assigned to Security Groups in the console.
Key considerations

Membership and permission changes apply immediately.

Users do not have permissions directly assigned. Permissions are inherited from Security Groups.

A user can belong to multiple Security Groups.
