A major architectural leap forward
CIP7 introduces significant new capabilities that position Cantara as a cloud-first integration platform optimised for scalability, automation, and secure connectivity.
What’s new in CIP7:
Cloud-Only and Region-Aware Architecture
CIP7 is designed for the cloud from the ground up. Deployments are regionalised to respect data-sovereignty requirements, allowing customers to select where their data resides for compliance and performance optimisation.
Stateless Platform Design
The Cantara Access Service is now stateless, unlike the stateful design in CIP6. Sessions are no longer tied to individual nodes. All access servers share state information through a centralised memory cache, providing seamless load balancing, higher availability, and improved fault tolerance. Capacity can be expanded by deploying additional nodes with no reconfiguration required, and the system recovers from failures automatically without manual intervention.
Self-Managed Tenant Portal
CIP7 introduces a self-service management console where users can:
-
Register new tenants
-
Manage configurations
-
View integrations and activity logs
This allows customers to onboard and administer their environments independently, without requiring Rinami assistance.
Enhanced Identity and Access Management
CIP7 supports OAuth 2.0 SSO integration and IdP-driven user provisioning, enabling direct connection with existing corporate identity systems such as Microsoft Entra ID or Okta. Administrators can manage group-based permissions (for example, Admins, Configurators, Viewers) through their own IdP, maintaining a single, secure source of truth for user access.
Full Support for Orchestrations and AIS
CIP7 delivers complete, native support for JDE Orchestrations and Application Interface Services (AIS), giving customers full programmatic access to JDE business functions, queries, and orchestration flows with no middleware translation layer in between.
Unlike adapter-based approaches, CIP7 communicates directly with the AIS and Orchestrator servers, preserving full fidelity to JDE's native data structures and enabling real-time transactional access with no custom adapter maintenance burden.
This includes:
-
Execute JDE business functions and submit UBEs directly via AIS
-
Trigger and manage JDE Orchestration flows natively via REST
-
Direct access to JDE data structures without transformation layers
-
Support for complex multi-step orchestrations with native error handling
Future-Ready Scheduling
A new tenant scheduler will enable automated job execution and event-driven workflows directly within the CIP7 cloud environment, improving continuity and reducing reliance on on-premises schedulers.
