Enhancements and Improvements in Version 4.0.0

  • Integrated scheduler for submitting individual and groups of jobs to a JD Edwards system
  • Support for a database server configuration
  • JDE Role based security for services
  • Capability to import and export service component definitions
  • Support for a clustered server configuration
  • Improved component and record searching
  • Functions for exporting data to common file formats

A brief overview of the enhancements and improvements is listed below.

Integrated Scheduler

The Scheduler is an optional feature for users of a database configuration to submit individual and group job requests to a JD Edwards system. This feature includes options for creating and managing requests, variables, and groups of requests. There are also options for viewing scheduled requests and history.

This introductory phase of the Scheduler supports only report requests. Support for other types of requests are planned for a future release.

See Managing the Scheduler.

Support for a Database Server Configuration

In addition to an XML file-based configuration, the Cantara Integration Platform Enterprise Edition now supports a database configuration for storing data in an Oracle, Microsoft, or MySQL database.

See Managing Servers.

JDE Role based security for services

System administrators can now control which services a user can execute based on their Oracle JD Edwards role. This ensures access to sensitive functions, data and reports can be controlled using standard JDE security methods.

Importing and Exporting Server Definitions

If you have an existing XML file-based configuration, you can upgrade to a database configuration by importing their server definitions for functions, queries, and reports. The export feature allows you to export your server definitions to revert to an XML file-based configuration.

See Importing and Exporting Server Component Definitions.

Support for a Clustered Server Configuration

You can now choose to install and deploy the Cantara Integration Platform on multiple servers to increase scalability and performance. Each server is configured and maintained within a single Cantara administration console.

See  Managing Servers.

Improved Searching

Searching for records and components within the Cantara Integration Platform is now available using a query-based function that allows you to conveniently narrow a search according to specific instructions.

See Searching for Components and Records.

New Functions for Exporting Data to a File

The Cantara Integration Platform now includes functions that allow you to export data to the Microsoft Excel format or PDF, depending on the component you are using.

See Exporting Data to a File.
