Gateways

Gateway Overview

A Gateway serves as a secure access point to your JD Edwards (JDE) environment, enabling centralised management of authentication, security, and access control.

One of the main functions of the gateway is to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities, allowing users to authenticate using their existing identity provider credentials without needing separate JDE usernames and passwords.

The Gateway also acts as a protective layer between external applications and the JDE system by inspecting incoming requests, enforcing rate limits to prevent denial-of-service attacks, and providing granular access control. This helps ensure that only authorized and properly formatted requests reach backend systems.

Centralizing access through the Gateway ensures strong security and operational oversight while enabling controlled connectivity to external applications.
