Testing a Query

You can use the Cantara Adminstration Console as a debug tool to test that a query is working as expected.

The following details are returned when you test a function:

  • Query Request: The payload that the Cantara Access Server RESTful service consumes. You can use the information produced here as a template for inclusion in your own service client.
  • Query Response: The data that the JD Edwards server returns. A maximum of ten records will be returned in the test.
  • JDE Communications: The data that is being transmitted from Cantara Access Server and the JD Edwards server. This field will only be populated if you are using the XML List Kernel to access your JDE data.

The results are returned in JSON format.

To test a query
  1. Select the Queries node in the navigation panel.
  2. Select the query you want to test.
  3. Select the environment you wish to test the query against at the top of the screen.
  4. Populate the default value fields with the search criteria you wish to pass through to the query.
  5. Click the Execute Test button.
  6. The query request will now be displayed, if you have made any recent changes to the query parameters that you have not yet saved you will need to press the Refresh button.
  7. Press the Execute button to run the Query
  8. If successful, the results are displayed.
