Testing a Function

You can use the Cantara Adminstration Console as a debug tool to test that a function is working as expected.

The following details are returned when you test a function:

  • Function Request: The payload that the Cantara Access Server RESTful service consumes. You can use the information produced here as a template for inclusion in your own service client.
  • Function Response: The data that the JD Edwards server returns.
  • JDE Communications: The data that is being transmitted from Cantara Access Server and the JD Edwards server.
To test a function
  1. Select the Functions node in the navigation panel.
  2. Select the function you want to test.
  3. Populate the default value field with the parameters you want to pass through to the function.
  4. Press the Execute button

  5. Prior to executing the function ensure you are in the correct Environment as seen at the top of the screen.
  6. In the execute screen, the current request information is shown.
There are two buttons available in the top right Refresh (left) and Execute (right)
If you have just changed any parameters then you will need to press Refresh to see the up to date information.
Press the Execute button (right) to execute the function.
  7. You will now see the test results split into three separate sections.
